Join Dean Boyer and Dean Ellison, along with other members of the College staff for a cookout, music, and celebration for the new academic year. Students from all class years are welcome to attend these events.

Each fall, the College welcomes families, friends, and alumni to attend dozens of events on campus and around Hyde Park, Chicago.

Taking the Next Step is a virtual conference-style career exploration and networking event featuring College alumni that is open to all first-year students in the College. Take advantage of this opportunity to explore your post-graduation options as well as to talk directly with alumni of the College.

Held for Second and Third Year classes, Signature Events take place in fun and iconic venues around the city to celebrate undergraduate students and your many accomplishments as part of the UChicago community.

Winter blues got you down? Worried about staying active and involved during winter in Chicago? Looking for ways to connect with fellow Maroons? Winter Wellness Club has you covered.

The Winter Wellness Club, an initiative from College Programming and Orientation, UChicago Student Wellness, UChicago Athletics and Recreation, and Spiritual Life, aims to make wellness simpler and more accessible. Each week, you will receive a curated email that highlights activities and events happening around campus related to the seven facets of wellness - Emotional, Environmental, Financial, Intellectual, Physical, Social, and Spiritual. As you attend events, you'll accumulate points and be eligible to receive wellness-themed prizes at the end of the quarter, including art supplies, yoga mats, plants, and more.

To take part in Meet-a-Maroon's friend chat, simply sign-up online, complete this short questionnaire, and you will be matched with a Maroon who shares your interests. It is a great opportunity to meet new people in the College and expand your circle of friends.

The UChicago Mentoring Program (UCMP) strives to foster community at the University of Chicago through peer mentorship. UCMP provides incoming first-year and transfer students with upper-class mentors to aid in their transition to College and the University of Chicago.

    Maroon Key Society

The Maroon Key Society is the College's honorary society and its principle student advisory group. Its members serve as advisors to the College leadership and play an important role as representatives of the greater student body to faculty, staff and administrative leadership.

    Peer Mentors

80-100 upper-class students serve as Peer Mentors for the UChicago Mentoring Program. Mentors are assigned to groups of incoming students and engage with them throughout summer, Orientation Week and Autumn Quarter.

    Orientation Team

The Orientation Team (O-Team) is a group of current students that assist in the facilitation and implementation of Orientation Programming through the College. These students play an integral role in the welcoming and transition of the first-year student population.
