Summer Session at the University of Chicago will welcome over 1000 academically talented high school and undergraduate students from around the world to participate in intensive study within UChicago's unique scholarly environment. All Summer Session precollege programs will be delivered via remote instruction for Summer 2021 - no residential options will be offered. Precollege students will be supported by a team of online Community Mentors, whose positions start June 14, 2021, with staff training, and end on August 1, 2021. However, some positions will extend into mid- or late August to support programs later in the quarter.
For specific questions about Summer Session student positions, contact Residential Director Jim Wessel at email@example.com.
Undergraduate Teaching Assistants are hired to provide academic support for specific courses within our precollege offerings. Recruitment for Undergraduate TA roles will begin in March 2021.
Online Community Mentors (CMs) support students enrolled in remote learning courses in Summer Session. Community Mentors engage with students over Zoom and other platforms, offering virtual programming and events, as well as individual mentoring meetings and sharing resources with students all over the world. These are part-time positions that offer significant flexibility.
More details about the Community Mentor role will be posted in March 2021.
