Congratulations on your admission to the University of Chicago, we are thrilled you will be joining the international college student population representing over 68 different countries from around the world! We believe that you will truly find the University of Chicago to be a wonderfully welcoming community where you can pursue your deepest intellectual interests.
In order to aid your transition into the College, we invite incoming international students to attend our International Pre-Orientation (IPO). The programming for IPO was recommended by current international students in the College. Sessions offered during IPO will help students begin their transition into the College and will help students prepare for their first year in an American classroom. For students with little or no experience in an American classroom, this program will prove to be extremely worthwhile.
International Pre-Orientation 2020 is going virtual! Visit the International Pre-Orientation website to learn more about the program.
If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 773.702.8616.
Student visa-eligibility documents will be issued once international students have met the requirements detailed on the College Admissions website. If you are unable to find the information that you need or if you have more specific questions, please contact the International Admissions Team.
The Office of International Affairs has many resources and support services available for international students.
For Autumn 2020, check out the OIA Virtual Office for more resources.
