International Partnerships

The International Partnerships Program is a robust community of exchange students, generally referred to as International Students-at-Large (ISALs), joining UChicago from partner institutions around the world. As non-degree-seeking undergraduate students, ISALs have full access to the College course catalog and are not subject to the academic requirements of UChicago's degree-seeking programs. This flexibility allows ISALs to tailor their coursework to their individual academic interests and goals.

ISALs are integrated into the College similarly to degree-seeking students, participating fully in the intellectual and social life of the University. Beyond the classroom, ISALs have the opportunity to engage with the broader UChicago community through Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), undergraduate research initiatives, intercollegiate and intramural athletics, and a wide range of campus events and extracurricular activities. The program is designed to ensure that exchange students experience UChicago not merely as visitors, but as active and valued members of the College community.
