Office of Research and Teaching Innovations

The Office of Research and Teaching Innovations (ORTI) brings together units that strengthen, challenge, and transform liberal arts learning in the College and wider university. Our programs and offices promote innovative modes of teaching, while they also encourage new avenues of inquiry, research, and distinction on campus, in the city of Chicago, and around the globe.

Summer and September Sessions enable students to round out and enhance their academic pursuits.  The Chicago Center for Teaching and Learning (CCTL) approaches pedagogy as a scholarly practice and fosters generative and productive learning environments. Chicago Studies offers pathbreaking programs and courses that focus on the complex metropolis in which our university is located. The College Center for Research and Fellowships (CCRF) advances opportunities for student research and supports undergraduates and alumni seeking prestigious external fellowships.
