Jason Lalljee

Majors: Political science, English language and literature

"In my time at the University, I made lifelong friends: people I talk to all the time, and whose growth I love to see as years pass. I was also introduced to the city of Chicago: one whose history and culture have been like another companion these past few years that I’ve been privileged to spend time with."

Political science and English language and literature major Jason Lalljee’s favorite UChicago memories double as advice for incoming students: “Ignore your homework more. Don't miss out on the Lorde concert, Indian food, Friday night movies with your House friends or the snowball fights in the courtyard.”

During his time in the College, Lalljee was a resident assistant for Keller House, a head news editor for The Chicago Maroon, the managing editor of the College Editorial Team, a researcher for the Paul Douglas Institute and a research assistant in the Department of Political Science. He also completed two internships at the Washington Desk at USA Today, was an intern for TurboVote and participated in Theater24.

After graduation, Lalljee will be interning with the USA Today’s Opinion section.
