Fady Shokry

Major: Economics | Minor: Inequality, social problems, and change

Fady Shokry’s favorite UChicago memory is the first time he walked onto the Main Quad. “I felt how great this place is,” said Shokry, an economics major with a minor in inequality, social problems, and change.

While in the College, Shokry was a board member of the Arab Students Association, a data manager for the Hematology Department at UChicago Medicine and a research assistant for Julia Henly, a professor in the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.

“UChicago has humbled me by exposing me to a wide array of fields, opinions, schools of thought and brilliant individuals,” Shokry said.

Shokry reminds students to “appreciate every night in the Reg, every meal in the dining hall and every in-person class because you are going to miss them.”

Upon graduating, Shokry will be doing business development in El Gouna City, Egypt.
