Career Advancement
Career Advancement offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for parents and family members to connect with current students throughout the career preparation process, including:
- Conducting practice interviews with students
- Attending or hosting networking events
- Inviting students to shadow at your place of work
- Hosting an internship, externship, or career exploration trek

College Programming and Orientation
Parents are often the best ambassadors for the College and serve an important role in inspiring other parents to get involved in the life of the University. The office of College Programming and Orientation offers a number of ways that parents can volunteer, including contributions to family-focused communications, such as the parent newsletter or parent community website.
Giving Opportunities
The generosity shown by families has helped to the College build and expand many of the hallmark programs that make it such a special place. We invite philanthropically-minded families to consider making a gift to the College or getting involved with one of our giving groups listed below:
- College Parents Council: The College Parents Council is a group of engaged parents who support Dean Melina Hale's priorities through advocacy, volunteerism, and philanthropy.
- Giving societies across campus: From The Chicago Society to the Odyssey Scholarship Society, the University honors generous and loyal donors at all levels through giving societies that offer special recognition, exclusive communications and invitations, and more.
