College Town Hall and Autumn Information

Dear Student,

Greetings from the College Academic Advising Office (CAAO)! We hope that you are staying safe and healthy. I’m writing to draw your attention to a few items regarding pre-registration for Autumn Quarter which will take place August 3-7, 2020.

Autumn Quarter pre-registration begins Monday, August 3rd, starting at 9:00 a.m. CDT and ending at 5:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, August 7th. You may view the schedule of courses beginning Monday, July 27th by logging into https://my.uchicago.edu and selecting “My Classes” for the Autumn 2020 term. Additional information is available in the College Pre-Registration Reference Guide and the College Pre-Registration FAQ.

REQUIRED MEETINGS: 
Please remember that rising second-year students must have had their required Spring Quarter adviser meeting prior to the end of 10th Week Spring 2020 in order to participate in pre-registration. If you are a rising second-year student and have not yet had your required meeting, you should schedule with your adviser as soon as possible via http://collegescheduling.uchicago.edu/.

CONSENT COURSES: 
Some courses require instructor consent for enrollment. Consent forms for Autumn courses are available beginning September 2nd, the Wednesday after the end of Summer Quarter.

TIME CONFLICTS:
In accordance with the College's Class Attendance Policy students will not be able to pre-regiser for classes with conflicting meeting times. Students who wish to register for classes with conflicting meeting times will have to go through the Simultaneous Enrollment Petition process, which will begin n September 8.

RESTRICTIONS: 
Students with enrollment holds are not eligible to participate in pre-registration. If you have a hold on your account, you will see a notification at the top of the page when you log into https://my.uchicago.edu. To resolve your hold, follow the directions that appear in the notification.
