Haneen is a third-year Political Science Student at Cairo University interested in cities, people, and how politics shape cities and peoples’ relationship to them. As a Sawiris Scholar at UChicago, she has been feeding that interest by taking courses across different departments, from Urban and Environmental Studies to Anthropology. Aside from academics, she is also a senior copy editor at the Chicago Maroon—and a part-time ghost haunting Harper Cafe.
