I was able to visit UChicago a year before I began studying here through a program called Warrior-Scholar Project. I loved the intellectually stimulating environment and knew this would be the perfect place to challenge myself and propel my career.

What was it like being part of the inaugural class of Veteran Scholars?

It's been an incredible journey. While there have undoubtedly been bumps along the way, charting the path as the inaugural group has been intensely gratifying and it's so cool to see everything we've collectively accomplished.

How have your past experiences influenced your academic and career interests?

I was accustomed to challenging myself and continually learning new things in the Marine Corps, so pursuing a role that would allow me to continue this came naturally. While I didn't know what specific field I would target coming into UChicago, I believed the esteemed reputation and skills learned through the Economics department would set me up the best for this endeavor.

What is your fondest college memory?

My quarter studying abroad in Paris was an incredible life experience. My eyes were opened to completely different ways of living.

After graduation, what are future plans?

Upon graduation, I will be moving to New York City.
