- Description:

The workshop will introduce students to the practice of drawing from observation in situ within the landscape. Students will use the campus trees as an easel for their drawing boards/paper and will be given a short tutorial on how to set up their equipment in relation to their subject. Drawing strategies and exercises will be announced throughout the 3.5 hour long workshop to prompt participants to think through the environment and make analysis of their observations and mark making.
Each workshop will end with a viewing of everyone’s drawings and a socially distanced group discussion. Students will be allowed the option to keep their material kits and to return to the remaining workshops if they wish to continue drawing within the group.
Please note: there is a maximum limit of 20 students per workshop. Registration will be approved on a first come, first serve basis. As this workshop will be held in-person, we will not be able to accommodate students located outside of Hyde Park.
