Description:

Literary Arts Lab Chicago is a four-day literary festival hosted by the Program in Creative Writing at the University of Chicago that features readings, panels, roundtables, craft and talks by some of the most exciting writers today, all of whom work across genre boundaries to enrich and challenge the field of contemporary literature. Francisco CantĂș, Cathy Park Hong, Valeria Luiselli, Douglas Kearney,  and Kristen Radtke will be joined by our faculty and students to celebrate and discuss literature, the process of creating work, and explore modern themes woven into the literary landscape. They will tackle the questions, influences, and ideas that inform each other's work as well as their own--they will also tackle the questions, influences and ideas brought to them by attendees. Evening and lunch-time events will be free and open to the public; craft talks will be aimed at students and require an RSVP.
