Zola Yi

Neuroscience Major, Visual Arts Minor

"I’ll also miss the feeling of community and shared interest that is present even just walking across campus, and seeing a familiar face,” said Yi. “But I am really happy to know that even if I am not physically here on campus, I still have these lifelong connections!”

Zola Yi is a neuroscience major and visual arts minor. On campus, she served on the board of UChicago’s Korean Student Organization and worked in a Neurobiology lab on campus. Additionally, she was a photographer and visual media editor for the College Editorial Team since her first year.

The summer after her second year, Yi traveled to China with a Metcalf internship to conduct research on neuroplasticity and memory at ShanghaiTech University. The following summer, she continued her work with Dr. Green's neurobiology lab at UChicago under the Developmental Neuroscience Undergraduate Fellowship program.

"My experience researching abroad allowed me to broaden my horizons, make lifelong friends with other students and network across the globe."

After graduation, Yi will be working and traveling as a project manager for Epic Systems, a healthcare technology company.
