Welcome to the Quantitative Biosciences Center!
The center is a drop-in help desk that students can use as a resource in completing assignments, understanding the curriculum, and discussing the applications of computers and mathematics to biology. Students require support to be able to complete quantitative, computer-based assignments and synthesize the incorporation of mathematics and computation with complex biology. Thereby, the construction of the QBC with its “help center” hours and “drop-in service” was born. Graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants staff the center and provide consultation for students engaged in the computational biology curriculum that is integrated into the courses required for the Biology major.
Every evening, 4 days a week, and on Sundays there will be two TAs available to help with your coding and modeling assignments in BSLC room 401. The center hours are Monday - Thursday and Sunday 5:30-7:30 pm CDT.
Use the Zoom link below to access the center. You will be asked to register before you can join the meeting room. If another student is currently being helped when you join, please wait in the breakout room and one of the TAs will get to you. TAs will come into the breakout rooms to assist, but in the meantime, please speak with your classmates on the assignment.
While the TA's will be on zoom every night, staffing is limited so priority will be given to students who show up in person. Please use this Zoom link.
Please take a few moments to fill out the feedback form below about your experience with the center and add any suggestions you may have! The information is very important to us and would allow us to improve.
