*First Years register at the College advising appointment during O-week.
Note: The Summer Quarter course registration process follows different procedures and dates and is administered by the Graham School of General Studies.
When: The 8th week of each quarter (except Summer Quarter).
The Course Request website is available 24 hours per day starting at 9am on the Monday of 8th week and extending through 5pm on the Friday of 8th week. During this period, you may update courses and rankings as often as you choose without penalty. The date, time of day, or order in which you log into the system is irrelevant to the outcome.
Who: Students who are not restricted by an administrative office and who have had the required quarterly/annual advising conference are eligible to participate in this process.
Students planning to graduate in the current quarter, students who have scheduled a leave of absence, and students who will be abroad for the next quarter cannot participate in course request. Also Course Request is only for degree-seeking students (not students at large (SAL) or international visitors) and not for non-College students like Graham students.
Where: Course Request website
How: During 8th week, you may access the Course Request website to select and rank classes from most desired to least desired (a ranking of “1” indicates most desired). You also indicate the total number of courses, up to four, you’d like to take. You may also list alternate sections for courses that offer more than one section. During 10th week students are “resolved” (see below) into classes.
Course request is followed by an internal process known as course resolution. Resolution takes each student’s class year and course ranking into account.

Some choices are easier than others. Consult these sites to help you decide:

You'll need to fill out this form if you want to take a fifth class, request transfer credit, take a course in the graduate divisions, etc.

Things change, classes sections are added, new courses are offered.
