The online add/drop period begins Monday of exam week and continues through Friday of the first week of the subsequent quarter. Students may add courses that have not reached preset seat limits and that do not require instructor consent. Online add/drop is processed in real-time, and works on a first-come, first-served basis. Courses may open or close instantaneously. The system does not permit students to register for more than four courses at any time.
Registration consent form (pink slip) add/drop begins 2nd week and lasts until Friday of third week. During this period students may add courses with instructor consent only by using the pink Registration Consent Form. This form is available in the Office of the University Registrar (Adm 103) and at the Advising Reception Desk on the 2nd floor of the Harper Memorial Library. The deadline to submit this form to the Registrar is Friday of 3rd week. After this date, students may not add any class except by petition to the Dean of Students in the College.
Students may drop courses without penalty through Friday of the 3rd week. Drops made in sequence courses cancel the remainder of that sequence.
Note: Pink slips are available for use 1st through 3rd weeks. They are the only way to add a course after Friday of 1st week, but students can (and frequently do) use them to add courses starting on the first day of the quarter.
Students who decide not to complete a course after the end of 3rd week must request a W (Withdraw) from their instructor. For further details on withdrawing from a course, see the College Catalog. Withdrawals appear on the transcript with grade of W.
